Summary

A family vacation turns into a nightmare for Michael Hart when he discovers his wife and two children have disappeared from their New York City hotel room。 Horrified, he fears they've been kidnapped。 Michael's frantic search to find them takes a shocking turn when he discovers that his wife, Natalie, appears to have left quite willingly, taking their children with her。 The police want to know why, and so does Michael。 But there may be a reason why Natalie ran, something Michael can't tell the police -- the truth about his past。 While untangling his deceptions might be the key to locating Natalie, Michael knows it could also be his undoing。 To find his wife, he must now turn to the one person capable of exposing all that he's been hiding。 Natalie thinks she has Michael all figured out and has hatched a plan to escape from him permanently。 One detail, though, threatens to derail her efforts: sleep -- or more accurately, the lack of it。 Since the moment the shocking revelations about her husband came to light, Natalie's insomnia has worsened to the point that she now suffers from delusions。 Are her fears about Michael valid -- or a symptom of her condition? With her children's lives at risk, the stakes for Natalie could not be higher。 On her own, running low on energy and resources, avoiding increasingly close calls with Michael -- who is on the hunt and closing in fast -- Natalie needs someone to turn to for help。 But who can she trust when she can't even trust herself?

Thank you to Goodreads for the contest I won to get this book。 Michael, Natalie and their two kids take a vacation to New York City。 Mike steps out to pick up some pizza and his wife and kids disappear, leaving a lonely teddy bear as a clue。 Mike has some secrets in his past that Natalie finds out and Natalie gets insomnia from all the stress。 A woman is murdered and you have to guess who did it。

Slowwww build up。 Loved the very end/epilogue with the ironic reveal!

"I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book。 All thoughts and opinions are my own。"I found this to be a pretty good read。 Michael and Natalie decide to go on a family trip, but it seems that Natalie has something else planned, like taking her children and running。 At first, we start wondering why is she running from him and what did he do? But, as we dive deeper, we see that Michael isn't the saint of a husband like you think he is or is he? Natalie is not sleeping, and you can tell it seems to mess with her mind a bit, but it doesn't help that Michael is not being supportive; he thinks she can not tell the difference between real and not real。 As we keep diving into Natalie trying to hide from her husband and her husband trying to find her, we discover that there is more to Michael than what meets the eye。 What happened in his past that has him worried about the police? The only thing that bothered me a bit in this story was how the detective acted when he just showed up and was like, "Hey, let's travel to find your wife。" I will say I enjoyed how it all came together, and the ending was done perfectly。 。。。more

Moved slow and felt a bit repetitive。 Not a thriller if you enter thinking this will be high intensity。 Yes it is a mystery with questions about missing Natalie and the kid。 Was interested for about 25%。 I thought it was strange that Natalie’s initial reaction to her husband’s cheating was to take the kids and run?I was hoping the insomnia piece would be a bit more compelling and make me really doubt Natalie。 I’m over “thrillers” that use infidelity as a major piece of the plot。 Surely, there ar Moved slow and felt a bit repetitive。 Not a thriller if you enter thinking this will be high intensity。 Yes it is a mystery with questions about missing Natalie and the kid。 Was interested for about 25%。 I thought it was strange that Natalie’s initial reaction to her husband’s cheating was to take the kids and run?I was hoping the insomnia piece would be a bit more compelling and make me really doubt Natalie。 I’m over “thrillers” that use infidelity as a major piece of the plot。 Surely, there are some other interesting things that can serve as a starting point for a wife disappearing。 。。。more

This book has a lot of build up, but very little actual action。 The husband and wife play a cat and mouse game through most of this book。 While the whole time readers are left thinking the husband did something he may or may not have done in his teen years。 The wife is suffering from insomnia and clearly losing her mind making her a very unreliable narrator。 There are a few twists at the very end which did help to bump up my thoughts on the book overall but I would've enjoyed those a bit sooner This book has a lot of build up, but very little actual action。 The husband and wife play a cat and mouse game through most of this book。 While the whole time readers are left thinking the husband did something he may or may not have done in his teen years。 The wife is suffering from insomnia and clearly losing her mind making her a very unreliable narrator。 There are a few twists at the very end which did help to bump up my thoughts on the book overall but I would've enjoyed those a bit sooner with a little more action throughout。 I want to thank Netgalley and St Martin's Press for their gift of an advanced readers edition of this book in exchange for my honest review。 。。。more

Definitely ridiculous but pretty action packed, which seems to be what I want from a mystery these days。

This was a 3。5 rounded down for me。 It had a great explosive start and ridiculously boring middle and then a solid ending。 The middle got repetitive and became a slog to repeatedly read travel logistics for Natalie and vague statements of guilt from Michael。 Then it picks up again and goes a bit too fast in tying up all the loose ends (fake arrest? Fake evidence? Fake relationship?)。 It’s a lot but it does wrap everything nicely。The story opens with Michael grabbing a pizza for dinner in New Yor This was a 3。5 rounded down for me。 It had a great explosive start and ridiculously boring middle and then a solid ending。 The middle got repetitive and became a slog to repeatedly read travel logistics for Natalie and vague statements of guilt from Michael。 Then it picks up again and goes a bit too fast in tying up all the loose ends (fake arrest? Absolutely amazing again, DJ Palmer just gets better and better。 Without giving anything away, the whole premise of the book takes a sudden twist and turn that I did not foresee。 Always gripping, thought provoking and intense, this novel is no different and definitely hits you hard。 I couldn’t stop thinking about it for a long time - sign of a great story。 This one would make a great movie! Not my Typical type of book, but I really enjoyed the read。 Enjoyed it so much that I ordered the others by this author。 Kept me on the edge to see who was the killer。 Good read。

I was really hoping for an edge of your seat mystery。。 but it was such a slow story。 While it did keep me guessing, it was tough to keep reading the first half of the book。。I finished, enjoyed the ending, but would not read again

This was a great page-turner with lots of twists that pulled me in from the beginning when Natalie takes the kids and leaves her husband Michael。 The story alternates between Natalie and Michael。 Who is telling the truth? Is Michael a cold blooded killer? Is Natalie delusional or is she right? I love well-constructed suspense stories that raise lots of questions, with compelling characters and this book has both。 This is the kind of book thriller junkies love to read and talk about later。 Both t This was a great page-turner with lots of twists that pulled me in from the beginning when Natalie takes the kids and leaves her husband Michael。 The story alternates between Natalie and Michael。 Who is telling the truth? D。 J。 Palmer’s newest novel My Wife is Missing is an absolute hit。 I was on the edge of my seat during the twenty-four hours it took me to devour this book and I loved trying to stay on top of the twists and turns weaved into this storyline。 Michael Hart goes to pick up pizza during a vacation in NYC, returning to the hotel to find his wife and two kids missing。 Security footage reveals they left willingly and are several steps ahead of Michael。 Natalie, Michael’s wife, has severe insomnia。 She’ D。 J。 Palmer’s newest novel My Wife is Missing is an absolute hit。 I was on the edge of my seat during the twenty-four hours it took me to devour this book and I loved trying to stay on top of the twists and turns weaved into this storyline。 Michael Hart goes to pick up pizza during a vacation in NYC, returning to the hotel to find his wife and two kids missing。 Security footage reveals they left willingly and are several steps ahead of Michael。 Natalie, Michael’s wife, has severe insomnia。 She’s discovered secrets from her husband’s past and proof of infidelity, but her lack of sleep has made the details a little blurry。 I loved that Palmer keeps readers guessing which character is authentic and just when you think you’ve figured it out, another secret drops。 This was my first of Palmer’s novels and I’m definitely a fan。 For long time fans or new readers, My Wife is Missing should not be missed!A sincere thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review。 。。。more

1。 This was too long。 2。 Someone had insomnia。 I think。 3。 There were too many words。 4。 This had some decent twists。 Sort of。 5。 It should have been shorter。 Well。 You get the idea。 It was fast-paced, but I just wanted to finish it and find out what happened。 So I rushed through it in a few spots。 3/5 stars。

I was really enjoying this, but it totally unraveled Bear the end into a total WTF denouement that made no sense and was completely ridiculous。

I’m giving this one 4 stars (although not quite; Natalie was annoying at times)。 It was a quick read with a few twists that I guessed and some that were surprising - quite the roller coaster ride!

This was a fun thriller。 The red herring was a bit too out there。 I still enjoyed the book。 Not terribly original but an enjoyable, quick read。

What a fantastic page-turner! This one was completely unguessable for me; the unexpected plot twists had me gasping and frantically flipping pages。 Days later, I’m still thinking about the meticulous plotting and execution that kept me on my toes。 It’s fairly obvious within pages that D。J。 Palmer knows the hallmarks of a great plot。 He piqued my curiosity and raised questions that I needed answered。 I couldn’t put the book down without satisfying my desperate ‘need-to-know’! I loved that each of his characters had purpose and motivation。 There were no filler characters or actions。 The different timelines and shifting points of view were cohesively linked, added to the tension, and allowed me to get inside the heads of both Michael and Natalie Hart。 The thriller was well-paced and the threat was ever-present。 What stood out for me was Palmer’s ability to keep a tight reign on the two core elements of plot; change and the unexpected。 It was the success of this thriller。 Natalie Hart’s disappearance and her husband’s quest to find them was an exhilarating adventure, worthy of my investment。 I will be pursuing Palmer’s backlist。 I was gifted this copy by DJ Palmer, St。 Martin’s Press, and NetGalley and was under no obligation to provide a review。 。。。more

The story moved slowly with much repetition。 The "twists" close to the end made it barely worth the 374 pages of reading。 A very, very generous 3 stars。 The first "thriller" that I literally fell asleep with numerous times。 Skip this one。 The story moved slowly with much repetition。 The "twists" close to the end made it barely worth the 374 pages of reading。 A very, very generous 3 stars。 The first "thriller" that I literally fell asleep with numerous times。 Skip this one。 。。。more

Secrets and Lies in a marriage。 What happens when trust is broken and a wife no longer trusts her husband。 Should she confront him or run? This is a mystery/suspense novel with many twists and turns。 You will be trying to figure out what is happening and who is responsible until the end。 This book definitely keeps the pages turning until the finale。 I really enjoyed the suspense of this book。Thank you to #goodreads, @StMartinsPress, and @DJPalmerAuthor for a copy of this book。
